What are skin tags?
Skin tags are a common skin growth in which a short, narrow stalk that sits above the skin surface. Skin tags can appear anywhere on the body and commonly appear on the neck, upper chest, underarms and eyelids.
What can I expect in the treatment?
Prior to treatment you skin will be cleansed and a set of clinical photos will be taken. The skin tag(s) will then be removed within minutes thanks to our laser device which is designed with a small pen-tip head, shaped to specifically target the individual skin tags, one-by-one, without affecting the surrounding skin.
Benefits of Skin Tag Removal
Skin tags can be removed within minutes from the face and body with little or no downtime. By using our laser procedure, there is no need for surgical intervention (which often leaves some permanent scarring). This is a walk-in, walk-out treatment that you can receive during your lunch break! While some minor scarring can occur post laser removal of skin tags, this is usually seen as a pale white colour, typically much smaller than the skin tag itself.
How long does the procedure take?
The skin tag removal procedure takes only 10 to 15 minutes. However, we schedule 30 minutes for your appointment as this will allow time to complete your Patient Registration Form, receive a consultation and discuss the procedure and post-care instructions
How many treatments will I require?
Our innovative laser technology facilitates the removal of skin tags immediately at the time of treatment – therefore no further treatments are required for the skin tags that are removed.
Is the treatment painful?
Topical and or local anaesthetic is usually administered prior to your treatment to ensure you are comfortable and experience very little to no pain.
Post treatment results
Following your treatment, the treated area(s) will be red and a little swollen. Within 24-48 hours post treatment, a small scab will form in the treated area(s), and will come away within a week or two later. During the healing time, makeup can be worn to conceal the treated area(s) and we will recommend the best types of makeup.
