Thigh Lift (Thigh Lipectomy) Before & After Gallery

Thigh Lift Surgery (Thigh Lipectomy) is a surgical procedure designed to remove excess skin and soft tissue from the upper thigh area, typically following significant weight loss. The aim is to improve comfort, hygiene, and contour, particularly in cases where loose skin causes functional concerns such as chafing or irritation.

What is a Thigh Lift (Thigh Lipectomy)?

Thigh Lift surgery tightens the skin and improves the form along the inner thigh. The excess skin and tissue are removed, leaving a scar that is hidden along the fold where the thigh and groin meet. This scar often travels down the inner aspect of the thigh to the knee.

Thigh Lift surgery is performed in a private hospital under general anaesthesia. The procedure typically takes between three and five hours.

Ideal candidates for the surgery are often individuals who have experienced massive weight loss or who have excessive loose skin that has lost its elasticity. Usually, they have loose and excessive skin folds along the upper inner thigh. These folds can cause significant issues with chafing, hygiene and clothing.

Suitable candidates must have maintained a stable weight for 12 months before undergoing surgery. Additionally, they should be in good mental and physical health, understand all surgical risks and complications and have realistic expectations regarding the surgical outcomes.

There are various types of Thigh Lift procedures:

  • Inner Thigh Lift (Medial Thigh Lift) – focuses on the inner thigh area
    • Mini (Crescent) Thigh Lift – focuses on the inner upper thigh
    • Medial Thigh Lift – focuses on the inner thigh from the groin to the knee
  • Outer (Lateral) Thigh Lift – addresses loose skin and fatty tissue on the outer thighs and sometimes the buttocks area
  • Spiral Thigh Lift – an extensive lift leaving a circumferential scar along the upper thigh and buttock region
  • Posterior Thigh Lift – targets the back of thighs and buttocks
