Facelift

With age, facial skin loses the tone and elasticity it once had during youth. The jaw and neckline lose definition and appear to sag because the skin is not as resilient.

Smoking, high alcohol consumption, sun damage, stress of daily life, genetic factors and some medications can also contribute to signs of aging. The rate of aging varies between individuals.

Facelift surgery involves the tightening and removal of sagging skin on the face and neck, and the removal or repositioning of excess fat to reduce the signs of aging by improving the contours of the face and neck appearing younger with smoother skin.

Most facelifts are performed for people between 40 and 60 years of age, but older people can also have facelifts. There is no specific age that is best for a facelift.
